Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

WHAT?

February 22, 2013

'We live in such a laissez-faire, do as you please world today, we take very little responsibility for the choices of others, even our youngsters. The decisions people make, must not be all that important. Really?

"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?"
                                                   --Matthew 18:12 TNIV

What? Would we go after the lost "one" and perhaps risk losing still more sheep? But Jesus is not talking about sheep, he's talking about "little ones"--believers (v. 6)--Jesus says "wandering" off is not just to find something else that is cool, but may lead to peril. Our choices have consequence: to do as one pleases may be permissible, but it has consequence.

"In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish." (14) That sounds consequential to me.

Joyfully,
