GOD'S ECONOMY

August 23, 2012

Over and over again in the Old Testament and New, we are challenged that God's ways are not ours.  The reminders seem necessary for how soon we forget.

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you have have no money, come, but and eat!  Come by wine and milk without money and without cost.  Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy.
Isaiah 55:1,2 TNIV

We operate in the "You get what you have coming economy."  But God's economy operates not on work and merit, but on God's abundance and grace.  We have so much trouble "getting it," because "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways." (55:8)

Remember that the next time you pray, "your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven..."  I believe we are to start living and treating others the way God treats us.

Joyfully,
