OFFERING

In Israel, the priests made various offerings in behalf of the people to seek God's favor, and to ask God's forgiveness for the people's sins.

But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle...
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant...now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Jesus, as the priest, is not merely performing an Old Testament ceremonial sin offering. He IS the sin offering. Not for his sins, but ours, does he act. In doing so, we are granted not ceremonial forgiveness, but real forgiveness.

Good news. A priest. An offering. Real forgiveness today, because of our priest who is our offering.
