Most of us want to be winners, right? That doesn't mean we always win, but we like the accomplishment...simply put, we like winning.

The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.
                                                 - 1 Chronicles 18:13 TNIV

1 Chronicles contains a summary of David's rise to power as king and conqueror. It speaks of David's faithfulness to his God. It "chronicles" victory after victory. In the middle of that summary it gives us this verse: "The Lord gave David victory wherever he went." David was a winner!

We know that David gets into trouble, and he loses plenty of battles, and experiences tragic loss. Yet through it all, David was a winner. Yet David's victories were grounded in God. "The Lord gave David victory..." Win or lose, our God has made us victors, winners, redeeming us from the most tragic loss, and granting us triumph through faith in Jesus Christ. Winners all!
