In our day, to go to a counselor for assistance is commonly employed. Not long ago, the counselors we consulted were neighbors, family, friends, wise people.
Your statues are my delight; they are my counselors.

Maybe there's a counselor we've forgotten. Psalm 119, in all its wisdom, points us to God's Word, the scriptures, the Bible. To make it a daily habit to read portions of the Bible, day by day, day after day, is to let the wisdom of God soak into our core, the soul of our being. Then it will begin increasingly to be "a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (119:105).
By no means am I discouraging consulting other counselors, but I am inviting us to live into the wisdom of the Psalmist. There is a consultant that Christians are blessed to consult on a daily basis: The Word of God.
