"UNFAIR"

March 22, 2011

We hear that cry when someone senses injustice, and they are quick to hold the grudge, sometimes with good cause, and sometimes not.

"You are just in these judgments, you who are and who were, the Holy One, because you have so judged, for they have shed the blood of your people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve."
                                                                                                                                 - Revelation 16:5,6 TNIV

Armageddon.  The great battlefield of God's judgment and accountability--angels and bowls of God's wrath.  Yet this time there is no cry, "unfair."  Instead, another sobering truth: "You are just in your judgments."

A police officer may give us a ticket for 63 in a 55 zone: "Unfair!" we cry.  But we are wrong. Inconvenienced, yes, but unjust, no.  God is just in God's judgments, and He is merciful in calling us to faithfulness, over and over, and over again.  The troublesome scene in Revelation 16 which repeats several times, "...but they refused to repent."

Reverently,
