TRUST

October 11, 2010

When my children were toddlers, they climbed on the playground until they were "up," and I'd open my arms for them to jump into my catch. They leaped usually without thinking. They trusted me completely; they trusted me to catch them without reservation.

Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him, let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.
- Isaiah 25:9 TNIV

To be candid, the first half or so of Isaiah is bleak. Page after page of judgment against the people of God for their failings. Wears me out. But in the midst of the prosecution, comes words of hope. Isaiah 25 is no exception. Oodles of words summoning the people of God to repentance, but then a word of God. The word is that some of the people continued to trust in the Lord, and "he saved us."

I hope your day is not bleak, but good or bad, in the name of the Lord, I invite you to trust in him. "Let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation."

Joyfully,
