Building One Another

FELLOWSHIP Vol 9 No 30

September 14, 2010

Dear Friend,

As the fall busyness gets underway it is the perfect time to consider the priorities in our daily and weekly calendars.  It seems that we are increasingly a people who when invited to attend a group or gathering often prefer to respond with “Maybe, but I am keeping my options open,” when instead it is time to make some key firm commitments.

Some things are not optional for we who would grow in genuine Christian fellowship with one another and both offer and receive genuine personal encouragement.

As the Book of Hebrews puts it, “And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24-25*

To pattern our own lives in a similar way means setting aside two fellowship gatherings on a weekly basis – one as we join with other believers in worship of the Lord who loves us and the other as we gather in a face-to-face small group of three to fourteen others for Bible study, mutual encouragement and prayer.

The time to set that into our fall schedules is now!

“We declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.” I John 1:3
