WORLD CHANGERS

March 17, 2010

Many of us toy with the notion that having been in this world, we hope to be the sort of person that we've changed the world around us at least a bit. We long to be world changers.

Happy are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength...
--Psalm 84:5,6 NRS

The Psalmist prays. In doing so, the Psalmist envisions the faithful person as a world changer. The Valley in Baca was a place of death, a nasty desolate place. Yet when the person of God travels through it, Baca is changed; it becomes an oasis. The Psalmist sees the people of God as world changers.

Ever have such lofty aspirations? "Happy are those whose strength is in you [God]." They are world changers. What if you prayed today to be a world changer? Make the Lord your strength, and we are told it will happen.
Joyfully,
