BE OPEN Vol 14 No 11

March 19, 2015

Dear Friend,

I visited a place this week that many years ago was, as Charlie Brown would put it, “A lot of old stomach aches.” It was an ordinary place where I’d had many conversations, some pleasant yet others difficult.

To my surprise it’s beautiful today. It’s a pleasure to be there. The conversations were full of warmth, laughter, and expectation.

It brings to mind the simple text in Isaiah, “Do not remember the former things” Isaiah 43:18.*

How easy it is to have a fixed picture of how a place is – or how a person is – based on some past experience and yet along the way there has been a transformation.

So be open to what possibilities our Lord may bring into your own life – and into the lives of others!

“I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:19.
