TIME OUT! Vol 14 No 2

January 15, 2015

Dear Friend,

The beginning of a new year is a good time to reaffirm the rhythms that care for your soul.

Consider this somewhat frenzied moment in the life of Jesus. The cousin of Jesus, John the Baptist, has been killed and surely that loss was difficult for Jesus. At the same time, Jesus’ disciples had just returned from short mission trips and wanted to tell Jesus what happened.

On top of all that we read, “Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, 'Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest’” Mark 6:31.*

In the times his life was busy, Jesus didn’t slow down, he took time out!

He used that time out to get by himself or take his disciples on a retreat for refreshment and to reconnect with God, his Father

In your busy life make sure that you are taking such regular time outs.

Take some time each day to read your Bible and to pray.
Set aside a Sabbath day each week for worship and rest.
Observe other times in which you step out of your busyness!

Reconnect with your Lord and with your own soul!

Joy to you - E. Stanley Ott
