Enjoy Life, Enjoy God
ACCOUNTABLE

Managers as a rule work for someone else; they are given a job to do acting in another's behalf.
"There was a rich man whose manager was accused of wasting his possessions. So he called him in and asked him, 'What is this I hear about you? give an account of your management, because you cannot be manager any longer."

It's then that Jesus tells the story of the Shrewd Manager. A great story in itself, a little troubling too (Luke 16:1-9). I focus on accountability: the manager worked for someone else, and was accountable, evaluated, and was told, "You have not done a good job with what you've been entrusted. You are fired!" A Jesus story.
Every one of us is a manager, a manager of the life with which God has blessed us. Everything about our world tells us, "This is YOUR life." That is not true; it's not our life. We are managers, and managers are accountable.
