GOD IS GOD

The Notre Dame football movie, "Rudy," features a wonderful scene where Rudy visits a priest. Rudy is trying to figure out God. To which the priest says, "I have only come up with two hard incontrovertible facts: there is a God, and I'm not Him." We would do well to remember that.
All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Fathers is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

Jesus' followers are excited to serve Jesus, and be with him. Yet Jesus gives them some daily counsel: that God is God, and they are not.
We are amazing human beings with immense capacities, yet Jesus in the words above reminds us that God is not a riddle to be figured out, or in our intellect and wisdom to know all the mysteries of the Godhead. No. God is God, and that is good.
