SILLY GOD

Sometimes we humans create, worship and serve, a silly god. Legalism is one aspect of that silliness; take the Sabbath for example.
The Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each of you on the Sabbath untie your ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not the women, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?"
--Luke 13:15,16 TNIV
So Jesus healed a wretched woman suffering for years, mercy was given on the Sabbath. Jesus broke the Sabbath rules. The religious officials were sure this is what the god they worshiped wanted, demanded. Jesus said, "Nothing doing."
How is it that we can so easily turn around a teaching of God, a blessing, and turn it into a curse? It's that silly god we keep bowing down unto. Let's see to it today that we seek to worship the God revealed to us, not the god of our creation.
