HOW LONG?

It is an ancient cry of people of faith, inquiring of God when God will intervene, when God will finally act, when God will hear our cries.
How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts....But I trust in your unfailing love, my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord's praise for he has been good to me.

Not only is it an ancient cry, it's oft-repeated. So when we are saying, "How long?" what do we do? Go back to verses 5,6; perseverance in the face of frustrations of waiting on God, it seems to be the way of discipleship.
I've written of this before, a friend of mine has a saying, "God never gets there too soon, but God never gets there too late." How long? Beware of too soon, but do not fear too late. "But I will trust in your unfailing love...."
