HILLS TO DIE ON

August 27, 2013

My former associate taught me the phrase, "That's not a hill I want to die on."  It seems we need to choose our battles wisely.

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord.  See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
                                                     --Hebrews 12:14,15 TNIV

Part of discipleship seems to involve being peaceful spirits.  Instead of looking for hills to die on, we are to be a peaceful presence.  That persona looking for a scrap also is in danger of having a bitter root grow up in their soul.

In the Spirit of Christ, today, let us be the peaceful presence in this world we inhabit.

Joyfully,
