ACCUSATION

When someone accuses us of something of which we are not guilty, that surely is a terrible thing. Yet when they accuse us of something when we are guilty, that may even be worse.

Then he went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, "This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth."
He denied it again, with an oath, "I don't know the man!"

In the good moments, Peter meant well, and he promised to be a faithful follower of Jesus, just like many of us. Yet all it took was a few accusations in a somewhat different context, and Peter abandoned Jesus and discipleship.

We live in the same place with Peter today. On Sunday morning in church it's pretty easy to be a Christ-follower, but what about where you are now, or where you will be tomorrow?
