NEW TEAM

After years of watching Emmitt Smith wear a Cowboys' uniform, it sure looked odd to see him wearing the red of the Arizona Cardinals. He was on a new team.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Pardon the analogy: as Christians, we are on a new team. The contract is expired with the old self, and a new one is in effect, because we are dead to self, alive to Christ. We may remember the old uniform, but it's gone, ancient history. "Hey, you're playing on a new team." Paul urges us to remember this life-changing truth in this important verse in Galatians.

Let's live today like we're playing for a new team...Jesus Christ is Lord!
