ACKNOWLEDGE

My mother taught me to write thank you notes. I still write them, but not nearly enough. But mom is right, thanking people, acknowledging their graces in our lives--that's rich.
Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.

Paul gives a series of final instructions to the Thessalonians, and in the midst of that list, "acknowledge..." I saw a person on a morning TV show last week who turned his disappointing life around merely by writing one thank you note per day to someone who touched his life: a waitress, a friend, a neighbor, the doorman at his apartment...
As Christ-followers, we have been blessed by the grace and generosity of Jesus Christ. What if we heeded Paul's exhortation? Who could you acknowledge today? Who tomorrow?
