Enjoy Life, Enjoy God
DEPENDENT
August 24, 2011
From the moment of our birth, we are taught to take are of ourselves, to learn self-confidence, and avoid dependence ultimately on anyone or anything.
Because you have depended on your own strength and on your many warriors, the roar of battle will rise against your people, so that all your fortresses will be devastated..."
- Hosea 10:13,14 TNIV
Yet, discipleship teaches us our dependence upon God. Israel grew so strong, so self-confident that the people thought they had little need of anyone or anything, including God. Their weapons, their power, their cunning - they thought was all that was needed. They were wrong.
The irony of discipleship is we will never be so strong as when we find our strength in God
Joyfully,
