GOD'S DESIRE

What does God want? What is God's desire? Every now and then in scripture God answers that very question.
For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgement of God rather than burnt offerings...they have broken their covenant; they were unfaithful to me there.
- Hosea 6:6,7 TNIV
God's desire? Not religious ritual, but a living relationship, a life lived in virtue such as mercy, grace, and generosity--the same blessings that God showers upon us, God desires us to live as well. But that's not what the people of God were doing. Instead they offered sacrifices, burned incense--"I want none of that!" said God.
God desires us. We call that "Christ-centered" living, as opposed to "Christ-occasional living," a living conversation between us and our God. God desires that. God desires you and me.
