DESERTED

 Popularity can wear off quickly. It's always been a fickle world. True for Jesus too!

"Am I leading a rebellion," said Jesus, "that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled." Then everyone deserted him and fled.
                                                    - Mark 14:48-50 TNIV

Jesus' popularity only lasts a fleeting moment. When discipleship proved inconvenient or a threat to what everyone was used to, Jesus was deserted by everyone.

I believe that the present time is just such a moment. It won't be by rejecting Jesus, but simply desertion by drifting away, but desertion nevertheless. "Then everyone deserted him..."
