THREE POINTS

April 8, 2011

Some preachers have been taught a form for a sermon--a sermon should have three points.  What about Jesus' sermons?

After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.  "The time has come," he said.  "The kingdom of God has come near.  Repent and believe the good news!"
                                                  - Mark 1:14,15 TNIV

Jesus doesn't seem to conform to a preaching professor's sermon form, but he does have three points:
--The Kingdom of God has come near
--Repent
--Believe the good news

Notice that at least two of the three elements of Jesus' message involve our response.  To believe the good news means living in a God-centered, Christ-centered change and focus.

What does this mean for your life today?

Joyfully,
