Songs carry a huge message especially in The Revelation of John. The angels sing the song, and in doing so, they announce the gospel of Jesus Christ and croon an invitation to hope and courage.

"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"
                                                   - Revelation 5:12 TNIV

In chapter 4, the song is about the Creator, the Father, God Almighty who boundaries all of history, our history! Now the angel sings in lament of one who can come to rescue, one to redeem, one to save, but no one is found. No one until the Lion of Judah, but this is the lion who is a lamb, the Lamb of God. He is worthy, and he is Jesus Christ. And the angels sing triumphantly of the one who is not only worthy, but also the one who saves.

Two songs tell the core message of The Revelation: of a God who is in charge, and of a God who rescues us, the world, from tragedy. When we're in the crucible of life, remember the songs, sing the songs, and they will point you to your God who is worthy alone and fully capable and willing to redeem and rescue.
