IN THE NAME OF THE LORD

As a believer in Jesus Christ, as one of the baptized of the Lord, has it ever crossed your mind that you carry with you the papers, the authority, the power of that very name? You come in the name of the Lord!

David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the Name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."
                                                     - 1 Samuel 17:45 TNIV

When Goliath stood before young David, everyone saw the magnitude of the Philistine mighty guy. They saw his glittering armor and weaponry - impressive indeed! What Goliath didn't see were the papers that David carried, he didn't see David's credentials, or that he came "in the name of the Lord Almighty." We are a people easily seduced by the glitter of armor, weaponry, the glitz of technology, etc.

Today as you go out into your world, don't forget, you have the opportunity to go in the name of the Lord Almighty." A good education, a great track record, and hard work...all very good things, but don't forget who it is whom you serve this day, and go in the name of the Lord.
