FOR EDUCATION'S SAKE

Education is a great thing. However, an education that does not lead to lifestyle, to being lived...education for education's sake? Questionable.

...Always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
                                                  - 2 Timothy 3:6 TNIV

At least as a Christ-follower and disciple, education or learning is always unto life. It's for us to live. Sometimes that was not happening, and so Paul cautions Timothy. Cautions against #1: learning that does not lead to practice or to the way we live, and #2, learning that distracts Christ-followers and leads away from truth.

Living the faith is a common theme. But today we might be a bit too casual about truth and integrity to God's Word. Paul urges us to be vigilant about judging the teaching and our practice of the faith in accordance to God's Word. None of this is for education's sake but for our lives' sake!
