Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

LEGACY

December 16, 2010

The Christian faith is a community experience; yet we live in a culture of individualism--"I'd rather do it myself."

I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors, did with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filed with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and I am persuaded, now lives in you also.
                                      - 2 Timothy 1:3,4 TNIV

Paul knows the importance of community, of living the faith together with "one another." He knows that faith grows, comes alive as we get together with one another. And further, that faith passes from one generation to the next by this sharing, even when community means your family, your household.

Are you trying to live your faith in isolation? We need one another. Your household needs you to interact with them. "I constantly remember you in my prayers." This is the stuff of growing faith, growing disciples.

Joyfully,

Dale Patterson
