GOOD NEWS

We call it the "gospel," or the good news. People are always looking for good news, but this?

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you..."
- Luke 2:10,11 TNIV

The angel announces to the shepherds the good news, the gospel. Yet again, can it be?
No human mind could conceive or invent the gospel, acting in eternal grace, thou art both its messenger and its message, lived out on earth through infinite compassion, applying thy life to insult, injury, death, that I might be redeemed, ransomed, freed. (Valley of Vision Prayerbook)

Yet it is the good news. That a people like you, like me, are blessed by our God who takes the initiative to rescue us from ourselves. You couldn't make this stuff up, not this good news.
