Water Vol 9 No 33

October 5, 2010

Dear Friend,

I noticed a growing pile of dried leaves under a large bush next to our porch out back.  I thought it was a bit strange and gave it no more thought as I swept the leaves away.

A few days later I was walking on our lawn and realized the soil was hard as a rock with multiple cracks running about and it hit me.  We’d had no rain for weeks.

I quickly ran a hose to that large bush and turned the faucet on.  Soon the drooping leaves were pointing upward as if in praise of the God who created them.

Some of the most life giving truths are the simplest to grasp and the easiest to forget.

When we are dry in spirit, when our soul seems empty, bare and burdened all we need to do is turn on the faucet!

As one of the last verses of the Bible wonderfully says, “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’  And let everyone who hears say, ‘Come.’ And let everyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who wishes take the water of life as a gift.” Revelation 22:17*

To “turn on the facet” all we need to do is come –and our Lord pours us the water of life!

So no matter what is happening at this moment in your life, face your loving Lord by faith, go to him and allow yourself to be refreshed by him!

“Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
