Dear Friend,

Struggling to resolve a number of issues in my mind and asking our Lord for wisdom in the midst of my uncertainty, I took a long walk along a quiet road that led me to a roadside pond of water.

I sat down by the water reflecting on my concerns and looking down at the beauty of God’s creation. The central question, “What do I do?” kept pressing into my thoughts.

So with head bowed I sought the Lord and asked for guidance. When I finally looked up, directly in front of me on the other side of the pond by the road was a street sign that simply said, “Yield!”

Yield!

I knew immediately the only way to move forward was to take courage, make some decisions and quite literally yield myself to the work of the Holy Spirit in and through my life.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” Proverbs 3:5-6

Yield is a wonderful word for we who would experience the God who loves us whether we face some uncertainty or find this chapter of life to be smooth sailing.

Yielding to God opens your life to the presence and reality of our Lord in you.  Take a moment, close your eyes, extend your hands palms up and yield your life to the Lord who loves you!

In the words of the classic worship song, “Jesus, I adore you.  Lay my life before you. How I love you.” [© 1972 Maranatha! Music Words and Music by Terrye Coelho]
