Enjoy Life, Enjoy God

BUT

September 25, 2009

On some occasions in our world today, we live in a gracious and low expectation culture. This is especially true of a person's relationship with God.

Brothers and sisters, my hearts's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.
- Romans 10:1,2 TNIV

Paul tells us that he is from a God-zealous tradition and people. Yet he inserts a BUT. If being zealous for religious matters were the issue of salvation and being received by God, then his people would be all set! BUT...

It's through faith in Jesus Christ. It's not zealous good intentions, Religious street talk in our world today says it's zealous good intentions. Paul's Letter to the Romans says, "Nope." It's all about Jesus. That is a BUT that our world is not too interested in today, but there you have it. It's about Jesus. More to come.
Joyfully,
